UWSCollege offers pathways to UWS for students who may not have qualified for direct entry or for those seeking additional support and preparation before moving on to university studies.
Equivalent to the first year of university
At UWSCollege you will complete the same units that first-year students complete at UWS.
That means that when you successfully complete your Diploma, you are guaranteed a place in your corresponding Bachelor Degree at UWS and you automatically receive one year advanced standing.
Our Diplomas
We offer diploma pathways to UWS in the following areas:
Study Mode
Our Diplomas are full time courses that are offered in two modes: Standard Program and Fast Track Program.
Standard Program
Duration - 12 months
Studied over three semesters giving you a full university year to complete your course.
Fast Track Program
Duration - 8 months
For those who complete a University Foundation Studies course with a Grade Point Average of 6.0 or higher. Allows you to complete the equivalent of one university year in two semesters.
UWSCollege and UWS
UWS licences UWSCollege to manage and teach Diploma Programs, so students who take our Diploma Programs are UWS students.
Entry to UWS
Successful completion of your Diploma Program requires a 50% pass in all subjects. When you successfully complete your course you may then proceed to the UWS Bachelor Degree that corresponds to your Diploma with one year advanced standing.Fast-track to second year university
If you want to complete your degree as quick as possible, you can fast-track your studies by completing a UWSCollege Diploma in two-semesters (eight months). If you are accepted into the Fast-track Diploma program, you will have the opportunity to complete a three-year UWS degree in two years and eight months.
If you decide to combine your Foundation Studies course with a Diploma, you will be eligible for a visa that lasts for the duration of both courses.
UWSCollege Diplomas are equivalent to the first-year undergraduate university program in the relevant discipline at the University of Western Sydney. When you successfully complete* your Diploma, you can enter the second year of your UWS degree course.
Diplomas are available in two-semester (eight months) or three-semester (12 months) formats. The two-semester format offers you a fantastic opportunity to fast-track your studies and gain two valuable qualifications - a Diploma and a Degree.
UWS licences UWSCollege to manage and teach its Academic programs, so students who take our Academic Pathways programs are UWS students.
You have two options
Fast Track Program - (Two Semesters)
Fast-track Diplomas allow you to complete the equivalent of one university year in two semesters (eight months). Each semester is 18 weeks.
Standard Program - (Three Semesters)
Standard Diplomas are studied over three semesters, which gives you a full university year to complete your course. This timeframe is suitable for students with lower entry levels, or students who may require additional support.

Other universities
After successfully completing* your Diploma at UWSCollege, you can also apply to other Australian universities by making an individual application.
*Successful completion means achieving the required GPA, a minimum English grade and in some cases a minimum Mathematics grade.
