About
The University of Western Sydney (UWS) licenses UWSCollege as its agent, to manage and teach its Academic programs. Students undertaking the Diploma in Engineering are UWS students.
This Diploma is intended to prepare students for tertiary study in Engineering. It specifically addresses important prerequisite knowledge in the areas of Mathematics and Physics.
The first year undergraduate content of this Diploma is taught over three semesters or two semesters as a fast track alternative, to enhance and facilitate student learning.- Tertiary Study Skills*

- Academic Entry Requirements
Academic entry requirements for this program vary according to your country of origin. In general, the program requires that you have successfully completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent, or UWSCollege University Foundation Studies or equivalent, with a Grade Point Average of 6.0 or higher. Students are also assumed to have completed study in Mathematics and Physics at senior high school level or to have completed University Foundation Studies level Mathematics at UWSCollege. International students must satisfy one of the following language requirements:
- IELTS(Academic) 6.0 with a minimum of 5.0 in each sub band.
- Pass EAP III 50% and pass in the overall test component.
- A “C” result in the Foundation Academic English course.
- A result in the UWSCollege English Entrance test at IELTS 6.0 equivalent.
We offer one year full-time study over 12 months (three semesters), or eight months full-time study (two semesters).
Each subject is assessed through a combination of continual assessment, mid semester and final examinations. In general, for subjects studied over two semesters, the weighting of the assessment is greater in second semester and on the final examinations. Details for each subject are contained in the individual subject outlines.
Successful completion of the Diploma in Engineering provides advanced standing worth 80 credit points (first year study) in the Bachelor of Engineering at UWS. To successfully complete your diploma at UWSCollege you will need at least a 50% pass in all required subjects.
