About

The University of Western Sydney (UWS) licenses UWSCollege as its agent to manage and teach its Academic programs. Students undertaking the Diploma in Business and Commerce are UWS students.

The Diploma in Business and Commerce provides you with a broad range of business knowledge and skills that prepare you for second year of your Degree at UWS.

When you successfully complete your Diploma, you are granted advanced standing of 80 credit points in the Bachelor of Business and Commerce degree at UWS.

We have intake dates in February, June and October. For specific information about your course refer to the Intake Dates section of the website.

Successful* completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent or UWSCollege University Foundation Studies or equivalent, with a Grade Point Average of 6.0 or higher to enter the 2 semester course, (GPA of 5.5 or higher to enter the 3 semester course). Students are also assumed to have completed study in Mathematics at Senior High School Level or to have gained a ‘C’ grade at Foundation Level Mathematics at UWSCollege.

* Successful completion means gaining a 50% pass in all required subjects.

For students who have completed their HSC: UAI/ATAR entry requirements to enter this course are:

  • Three Semester: UAI > 50 (indicative) ATAR > 52 (indicative)
  • Two Semester: UAI/ATAR > 55 (indicative)
Please note: Entry scores are indicative only. Other factors may be taken into consideration.
One year full-time study over 12 months (three semesters), or eight months full-time study (two semesters).
Each subject is assessed through a combination of continual assessment, mid semester and final examinations. In general, for subjects studied over two semesters, the weighting of the assessment is greater in second semester and on the final examinations. Details for each subject are contained in the individual subject outlines. 
Successful completion of the Diploma in Business and Commerce provides advanced standing of 80 credit points (first year study) in the Bachelor of Business and Commerce at UWS. To successfully complete your Diploma you will need at least a 50% pass in all required subjects.
