Equity Scholarships are for students who can demonstrate hardship which may become a barrier to them continuing their studies.
What is the Scholarship Worth?
UWSCollege is offering up to 10 Equity Scholarships valued at $5000. Successful students will receive $2,500 per year, for 2 years, during their studies at UWS.
Who can apply for an Equity Scholarship?
Equity Scholarships are for Diploma and University Foundation Studies Students who are moving on to further study at UWS.
If you started your course at UWSCollege in 2012 and have finished, or will finish by February 2013, you may be eligible.
What are the requirements?
To qualify you must meet all three criteria below:
- You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- You must meet the minimum requirements depending on your course:
- University Foundation Studies Students – Completion of the University Foundation Studies Program within the minimum time, and gained entry into either a Diploma course at UWSCollege, or to a degree program at UWS
- Diploma Students - Have completed all, or at least 7 of the 8 Diploma Program units at UWSCollege within the minimum time and gained entry to second year of UWS
- You must have commenced a Diploma or University Foundation Studies Program at UWSCollege in either February, June or October 2012 and finish by February 2013.
How do I apply?
Download the Equity Scholarship Application Form (PDF, 74.9Kb) or obtain an application form from the Student Services Centre.
Submit your application to the Student Services Centre no later than 4.00 pm on Friday, 11th January 2013. No applications will be considered if they are lodged after this time.
You may lodge your application prior to completion of your course.
When will I find out if I am successful?
All scholarships are announced and awarded during the February graduation ceremony.
